Well, sure haven't felt like writing this week. Just getting used to being just me and the kids again. It was sure wonderful being with Jason last week. Instead of writing about what we did this week- which was mostly unpacking and playing with Civil War toy soldiers- I will write about our week with Jason.
It was AMAZING!!
Day 1: We left in the afternoon and Jason's parents drove ALL night!!! They were wonderful. I just tried to keep kids happy. It was about a long long drive. but we made it! We got to the island, slept a little, and saw the sunrise on the beach. Beautiful. The kids played a little on the beach. Mom had brought a set of sand toys-shovels, etc.- for each child. Joey immediately began to dig holes in the sand. I even heard him giving Sammy orders to dig more!! We ate breakfast at the Sunrise Cafe-i think it was called. Then....played on the beach more! The kids LOVED it. We got our feet wet in the water, I even fell asleep in the warm sun with Maggie for a little while. We got our stuff all back in the van- which by the way was crammed somehow with ALL our stuff for the week!! We went to our rental house, unloaded the whole van and got settled in. Upstairs had 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath, kitchen right when you walked in, a family room and dining room together, and a beautiful screened in porch. The lower- ground level had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, washer and dryer, and a huge open room that would have been great to hang out in if the weather had been a bit warmer.
Day 2: We went to the post and shopped a little, then WE PICKED UP JASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) So good to have him back with us. The kids loved showing him the house. Then, we walked on the beach.
to be continued.....
The pics are of the sunrise the first morning on the island, the kids playing for the first time on the beach (notice the heart that they dug on accident- they didn't realize it was a heart till I pointed it out to them. I thought it was fitting since we would see Jason who we love SO much the next day.), and walking on the beach on day 2 with Jason (also, notice the beach is deserted. there were mostly soldiers there. it was so nice to capture pictures with not many people around! and to have it to ourselves).
